The lunge mine (or pole mine) was an improvised Japanese weapon used during World War II. It consisted of a large plunger-like HEAT explosive attached to a long wooden pole. The user is intended to charge the target (usually a tank), and stick the mine onto it, detonating the weapon, blowing up the wielder in the process. It was invented in 1945.

Medal of Honor: Rising Sun[]

The lunge mine's only appearance is in "Fall of the Philippines". Several Japanese soldiers use it to destroy the M3 Stuart tank. It is only used by the enemy and is unavailable by the player. Upon contact, the player loses more than 75% of health. This is historically inaccurate, since the lunge mine was invented in 1945 and thus not available in 1941.
