A few months back, Electronic Arts announced that they would be having a rotation of Battlefield in one year and Medal of Honor the next.
Just now, EA COO (Chief Operating Officer) Peter Moore has confirmed that the Medal of Honor franchise has been taken out of this rotation, mostly due to the poor critical (review scores) and commercial (sales figures) reception of Medal of Honor: Warfighter.
"We struggled with two challenges: the slowdown that impacted the entire sector and poor critical and commercial reception for Medal of Honor Warfighter," said Moore, "Medal of Honor was an obvious miss. The game was solid, but the focus on combat authenticity did not resonate with consumers."
This may mean that the only first-person shooters we'll get for the time being are from the Battlefield series, unless another FPS is put into this rotation to fill the empty slot created by this change-up.
And it would also mean that we may not see another Medal of Honor game for a few years or so until later in…
CBS News has reported (on November 8, 2012 6:44 PM) that seven active members of SEAL Team Six have received letters of reprimand for giving out "classified" info to Danger Close as they were working on Medal of Honor: Warfighter and for violating the unwritten code that SEALs are "silent warriors who shun the spotlight".
Since the Osama Bin Laden raid back in May of 2011, the SEALs have been "buried in an avalanche of publicity" as they have been featured in films such as Act of Valor and the upcoming Zero Dark Thirty.
Four other members who also helped in the development of the game, that have since transferred out of SEAL Team Six, are also being investigated.
For the seven members, this means that their pay has been cut in half for two months and that their chances of promotion have been "killed".

"Assuming you can patch it and it works, what you've got here is a basic shooter that, when it remembers what it is, can be fun, and when it forgets, goes mad."
"Medal of Honor: Warfighter more resembles an untrained insurgent trying to figure out a state-of-the-art rocket launcher than a Tier 1 soldier."
"For a game that's done its utmost to claim the word 'authentic' as part of its hype campaign, Medal of Hono(u)r: Warfighter doesn't feel anything at all like a genuine portrayal of war."
" For the entirety of its brief five-hour campaign, Warfighter spotligh…

Possibly being the last pre release trailer for Medal of Honor: Warfighter, which comes out in less than 6 days in North America, and less than a week for the rest of the world, Danger Close has released some last few videos promoting Warfighter.
The trailer, showing off the amazing graphics on the PC using the incredible Frostbite 2 engine, show gameplay for Al Fara Cliffside, Shogore Valley, and the other maps we've seen already, also highlighting the best Support Action in the game, the AH-64D Apache.
Warfighter comes out next week, have fun and stay sharp.

Hello, this is your favorie pointman coming at you with some news. Today the user medalofhonor uploaded a pre-order ad for Warfighter. Now ussually I put this on the other news, but this video had some interesting things to point out. The video starts out with the SFOD-D Pointman firing his PredAR moving infront of 2 of his teamates with "Be the first on the frontline" in huge lettering soon after. The video then moves on to a pointman standing idly with a helicopter passing over him. The video then shows the PredAR in action with a Trijicon ACOG with a diffrent sight then seen before.
It then shows a player attacking another with a tomahawk and placing a demo charge and running of before the entire objective collapses in a display of explosions. It then shows a KSK Heavy Gunner's leg being cut and then taken out by a tomahawk to the jaw. Once the video reaches to the words "Suprise" the pointman is holding a UAV. After the UAV has marked the positon a helicopter begins firing rockets …

Well its video weeks as the due date for Medal of Honor: Warfighter draws near. As the Medal of Honor Youtube page gets new videos at an increasing pace so far, we've been given several videos to give background information.
The SEAL Team 6 Combat Training videos goes back to 2010s marketing campaign to give background information on the lives of SEALS and what they do and what the subject is about, such as classes.
Each video is narrated by an undercover SEAL Team 6 member who helped the development among the game. His identity is kept secret by distorting his voice and censoring his face.

The first of the videos, this video begins with an opening scene detailing Medal of Honor: Warfighter in things such as news, TVs and distorted images. Most of the opening is from the Preacher Story Trailer. This opening is longer than the others, as it is the first of the series.

Today the medalofhonor youtube account has uploaded a 2 minute and 47 seconds long video of SEAL Team 6 snipers titled Sniper: SEAL Team 6 Combat Training Series Episode 1 -- Medal of Honor Warfighter. The video starts off with clips from the singleplayer most from the Preacher trailer, also combining new reports from in game and, and real life. The video then states "The following interview is the first in a series with former SEAL Team 6 operators who have prticipated in several high profile missions over the last decade. The subject featured are former Navy SEAL Team 6 operators who acted as consultants on MoH Warfighter. For security reasons their idntites have been protected."
The video then goes to a Navy SEAL setting up a bolt action sniper rifle and killing a player. Then a Operator narrarates over a in-game sniper and a actor lurking in what seems like a jungle saying "As snipers we typically patrol out in front of the assault teams, we are ussually armed with thermals, obviosl…
Hello everyone this is Ops, On August 14th the youtube page medalofhonor uploaded a video giving us a better view of Warfighters multiplayer. The trailer starts by showing a new map called Saravejo Stadium from a UAVs POV. The camera then zooms down onto a fireteam consisting of a SAS Point Man and a KSK Assaulter, the trailer then shows us the MP7,G18,SMAW, and M249 in action. After a Suchka and the SC5 are shown a SFOD-D Demolitionist attacks a player with a tomahawk similar to a way we would see in BF3. Another map called Phillipenes Basilan Aftermath the same way Saravejo Stadium was shown the camera once again zooms down into the action showing us a player using a battle rifle, M9, the "Blooper"M79 Grenade Launcher, and a G1 series Pistol.
After a player watches a squadron of jets attack it shows another melee similar to BF3 and a remote controlled explosives weapon after the explosion it shows us the Spec Ops class's vision ability. The trailer finally moves to the Bonsia Novi Grad…
On August 1 the medalofhonor youtube page uploaded a trailer for Warfighters single-player centering around our friendly protagonist Preacher.
The trailer begins with Preacher conversing with an unknown woman, possibly Lena via phone at a train station when a suicide bomber gets spotted and Preacher runs towards him, but he detonates and throws Preacher back.
Preacher wakes up by Mother and is revealed to have the first name of Tom. Voices of Lena and Preachers daughter are heard.
Following scenes show multiple operations, such as a freefall out of a helicopter, AH-6 Little Bird helicopters flying with soldiers to an unknown destination, Voodoo slamming a hostage into the ground for resisting, a funeral service for an unknown person from the armed services, Voodoo and another Task Force member in a streetway when the other Task Force member gets hit by a car.
Preacher then lays there in the hospital, when he sees Lena and his daughter coming to visit him.
After, several sergeants are shown…

- There is a dynamic action breaching sequence, which players can seemingly choose how they want to breach, from the weapon, to the incapacitator
- The wonderful power of the new Frostbite 2.0 engine to the series.
- A new trailer of multiplayer showing the blue vs blue type engagements. It showcases the multiplayer skins of most of the multiplayer factions, there is also quite a bit of destruction in the game. The drone from the campaign is there, there is a jet overhead, several guns, a mortar with a controllable round, a portable recon plane that the player …
Yesterday, the first trailer for Medal of Honor: Warfighter was released.
The trailer confirms various rumors that had been swirling around prior to release; there are to be 12 playable factions in multiplayer, and in various locales, including the Philippines (which itself was confirmed during the GDC "eyes-only" demo).
Below is a short analysis of the game's trailer.
- 1 Factions
- 2 Weapons
- 3 Vehicles
- 4 Locations
- 5 Gameplay
According to various sources, including the official website, the game will feature not only American Tier 1 units, but also the German GSG9, Polish, Norwegian, Philippino, Canadian, Australian, and other international units.
- Navy SEALs (Task force Mako)
- Delta Force (SFOD-D)
- GSG 9
- OGA (Unknown who or what this mention refers to; perhaps a catch-all faction used to represent "miscellaneous" Tier 1 factions)
- SAS (separate from the SASR mention in the trailer)
- FSK and HJK (both are Norwegian Special Forces, though they're mentioned at the same time, so it is unknown if they …
According to the April issue (on shelves March 6th) of Official Xbox Magazine, the sequel to 2010's game is Medal of Honor: Warfighter, confirmed with what could be taken as the game's cover art on it's Official Website. It was announced that the game would get an official reveal at the Game Developer's Conference in March (and hopefully get a beta to top it all off?)
The multiplayer aspect will be developed in-house by Danger Close, but will use DICE's Frostbite 2.0, despite what was intially reported.
The story will follow a Tier 1 Operators (unconfirmed if they will be Wolfpack, Neptune or a "New Unit" as seen in the Battlefield 3 insert).
I am a huge fan of Medal of Honor, old AND new, so I'll keep you updated in the coming weeks.
Outside of the Battlefield 3 box, and a new Blog Series not much has been heard about the Next Medal of Honor. However just today, Attack of The Fanboy got wind of news of a reveal for the long rumored, now confirmed sequel. Despite minor controversyand criticisms, it looks like EA will go ahead with the sequel. On a side note, with many "fans" disliking Medal of Honor 2010's use of D.I.C.E's Frostbite 1.5 Game Engine, it is suggested that Danger Close will instead develop their own engine for the game.
The reveal is to take place at the annual Game Developers Conference in San Francisco, California. The Conference itself will be March 5th-9th, with the Expo on the 7th-9th. Hopefully, EA will Livestream the Event as they did with Gamescom last year in Germany with demos for Mass Effect 3 and Battlefield 3.
In accordance with our friends over at the Community Wikia, and as founder of this Wiki, I have decided to change the main banner of the Medal of Honor Wiki to reflect an anti-SOPA/PIPA stance. From 9PM-9PM PST (12AM-12AM EST) on Wednesday January 18th, a high-intensity campaign against this legislation will takeover all Wikis. For the first time you visit this Wiki in your browser, an anti-SOPA/PIPA banner will be visible and the Wiki will be reverted to a default style. Once you advance further into the Wiki, the normal look of the Wiki will change back over. Wikipedia and Reddit will be blacking out completely on January 18th. The Stop Online Censorship tag on our banner will remain until the legislation is resolved. Because of our relative lack of activity, we will not go the route of the Call of Duty Wiki and black out completely, but the message should be clear.
If you are a citizen of the United States, I would highly recommend that you contact your Congressman or Senator in reg…
Well if you bought BF3 today and opened it up, on the back of the online pass is -- what else? -- a teaser for the second modern Medal of Honor game. According to an article done on EuroGamer back in June (which I, shockingly enough, missed), MoH and BF are going to alternate each year -- so MoH2010 > BF3 > MoH2012 > BF(BC3/2143/1944/V2) > MoH2013, and onwards. The Official MoH website has been updated with two new blogs. One is from Greg Goodrich, regarding Medal of Honor 2012.
The above quote pretty much sums up everything. What we now know about MoH2012 is that it'll focus around four units, much like MoH2010 -- but the first patch is different from any that was found in MoH2010. It looks almost like a cheshire cat grin.
The second post regards the unit patches (actually called morale patches) found in MoH2010, and what they mean.
Well, it's been far too long since I've been able to do a proper news blog, but here it goes: the HD remastered Medal of Honor: Frontline has been made available for download on the PlayStation store for 15 USD. The remastered version of MoHF has several changes that were made to it. The primary selling point is its redone textures, but the remastered game also comes with several other features, inlcuding ironsights and a more modern control scheme (though the old-school control scheme is still available).
No word yet on a PC or Xbox 360 release.
An article I discovered recently claims that the developers -- Danger Close games -- is hiring for an unannounced triple-A game... which can only mean Medal of Honor, since that's the only game they're supposed to be working on.
I would be very surprised if they weren't working on Medal of Honor 2011 or 2012. Hopefully this time they will r-use their assets instead of restarting. And God, don't let DICE handle the multi!!!
God, what have we become...

You can vote for your favorite game of the year in Wikia's Top Games of 2010 poll. It doesn't have to be Medal of Honor, of course - there have been quite a few excellent games released this year. If your favorite game is not on the list yet, you can simply add it.
Copied from the page on the main website:
Ugh, why did they do that? Now all the nooblets will have the highest tier weapons.
A sequel is going to be made.
Hooray! 15 MoH games... God, it feels like it was just yesterday that I broke the crystalline case of the original game... Hopefully they will reuse their assets instead of making the game from scratch this time.
Well this saturday and sunday, you have a chance to do just that.
First up will be the Xbox 360 session on Saturday, November 6 from 1pm to 4pm PST, and on Sunday, November 7, you’ll be able to play with Danger Close on the PlayStation Network from 1pm to 4pm PST. To play, simply add the Game with Dev Xbox Live gamertags or PlayStation Network IDs provided below.

On an unrelated note:
From November 5 (at 12:01 am EST) to November 7 (at 11:59 pm EST), EA will be hosting a Play and Win event, giving you a chance to take home some awesome Medal of Honor prizes. To enter, all you’ll need to do is sign into your EA online account and play a Medal of Honor multiplayer session in the Hot Zone multiplayer mode. Easy, right?
You can enter only once per day (with a maximum of three entries throughout the sweepstakes) to win …
EA has released a schedule for the release of the two new DLC content. Here's the list:
- Xbox - went live at 2am PST
- PC - went live at 8am PST
- PS3 - will go live at 3pm PST.
For those of us on the east coast, add three hours to that time. Just putting this here in case you didn't know already.
On November 2, Clean Sweep won't be the only gametype released -- DICE have decided to release another gamemode on the same day, called Hot Zone, which will cost 9.99 on the PSN/Steam network or 800MS points for Xbox Live. The description of Hot Zone is this: a king-of-the-hill style domination gamemode where two teams fight to take and control a single, central objective. Whoever holds it the longest wins. It also features two additional maps and two rehashed maps -- bringing the grand-total to 8 additional maps. I dunno about you guys, but I cannot fucking wait.
Update from Heatedpete:
Just to say, the Hot Zone game mode may be released as part of a deal using the EA Gunclub. No deal/information has been released as of yet, but it may arrive in the near future.
On November 2, expect a new gametype called Clean sweep to be released, along with two new maps (Khyler caves and Bagram hangar). It's a last-man-standing type game, essentially a team deathmatch with no respawning. This'll add about another 10 hours of playtime to my account, because I love this kind of gameplay. Afterwards, though, I'll likely spend most of my time playing New Vegas.
Yep, the new Medal of Honor game, Medal of Honor (2010) is now available for purchase. I, personally, bought the game, and Goddamn if it isn't one of the most fun I've had. So now begins the hard part: making as complete as possible all articles related to Medal of Honor. Unfortunately, our European friends will have to wait until Friday.
Check it here. If you didn't read the title, there are MASSIVE SPOLIERS.
As I was surfing the web today, I came along this:
So in case you yunguns don't know, the new Medal of Honor is not the first one. This game, Medal of Honor: Frontline is arguably the best MoH for consoles to be released yet. Essentially, it was like Allied Assault, but for the PS2. It has always been my second favorite game in the series, after Allied Assault. In addition:
Confirmation that the Jimmy Patterson in the Leave a Message trailer is in fact the grandson of James Steven Patterson. Dear God, let Tuesday come faster, because I cannot wait any longer. The epicness of this game is too much to keep away!
I don't get why the screen shifts over to the right. It just happens, and I can't do jack about it. Sorry.
EA has released the entire MoH soundtrack on Itunes -- and let me tell you, it is very different from past titles' soundtracks. It is available for just 5.99 USD for the album, and 0.99 USD per song.
Wikia, after some server problems earlier this afternoon, has released the new layout for all wikis. It can be enabled in the preferences, although it will still be possible to use Monaco until the 3rd. What does this mean to us? Well most things will remain the same. However, it will now be easier to do certain things with the wiki, such as designing a custom look. (Which we have already done). In addition, some of our current coding, such as Common.JS and Monaco.css are not compatible with the new look. Feel free to give feedback here, but remember that we cannot change anything about the current schedule.
I've never played the game, but apparently our own Dusty is now available for purchase as a Mysims character for EA's MySims Sky Heroes. Make of this what you will; I have never played the game and honestly don't intend to, but hey. talk about slow news...
The open PC beta is now live for play. If you have downloaded the client, you can now access the game and play through matches. If you would like to participate, simply head over to the main site and download the client under "Open PC beta". It's free, and it can give you a bit of experience with what is to come. Make sure to download it quick, though, it'll only be available until this Thursday.
If you have the beta, please add some content to the wiki!!! There's only a few days to get this info!!!
Here's the link. Currently it is not possible to play, but it will/should be on monday. If you have a PC that meets the requirements for the beta, try downloading it. The main menu looks really good, and although you can't access anything, it looks like it'll be a good, solid, high-quality game.
VERY IMPORTANT NOTE: DO NOT TAKE SCREENIES, IT'S AGAINST THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS!!!
Well, that's that, I suppose. It's a valid move, changing the name. It won't have a direct effect on the game, but of course, we have to go and rewrite all our articles about them.
Well if anyone's been looking at the MoH site, you'll notice they frequently make updates. This time, a commercial for MoH will be released this Sunday (October 2nd). Nothing really new about it, it was just your average TV promo.
Copied directly from their blog, they have explained the exclusives that come with the video game:
The Limited Edition of Medal of Honor comes with an exclusive coalition Spec Ops class skin, access to the MP7 SMG, the TOZ194 shotgun, the 870MCS shotgun, and an invitation to the Battlefield 3 beta. As an exclusive to PS3 owners, Medal of Honor: LE also comes bundled with a re-mastered version of Medal of Honor Frontline. If you’ve already pre-ordered the game and you’re not sure about your status, fear not; every copy of Medal of Honor that is pre-ordered is automatically upgraded to the Limited Edition, regardless of platform of where you bought it.
For those who have pre-ordered at GameStop, you’ll receive the M60 machine gun (the most elite Tier 1 weapon in the game) for multiplayer, and you’ll also be Tier 1 on day 1. When you pre-order Medal of Honor from GameStop, you will receive instant Tier 1 Operator status for the assault class, complete with a new skin in multiplayer, giving…
Well if you didn't already know, Wikia is getting a makeover. Now, I personally don't like it. I like the Monaco skin better, and I know it'll be hell to make Oasis (the name of the new skin) fit with the series. I personally feel Oasis is poorly laid-out and hard to use.
It goes live on the 20th next month, and the option to use Monaco will be removed on the 3rd of November. It's not our choice, we don't have a say in the matter, but that's wikia's plan, and they're going to stick to it. Perhaps by release, it'll be made to look and work a bit better, but that's a longshot.
As can be seen at the official site, there is a new Medal of Honor experience video, this time for multiplayer.
Now, before the video begins, there is a message that comes up. It states, "Play the PC open beta on October 4 at medalofhonor.com". What does this mean to us? A second beta? Kind of unusual to have a closed beta followed by an open beta ten days before release.
PC beta info here.
The video itself is much more cinematic than the previous vids.
Now, the actual video shows us that there will be a new multiplayer mode: Objective Raid. Attackers need to destroy an objective and the defenders, of course, defend. Unusually, the attackers this time are the Taliban. There will be a machinegun turret (simply labeled "Machinegun" in the killfeed) that looks remarkably similar to the HMGs in BC2. And, perhaps, they've added a cover system? Maybe it's just my imagination (It could just be a cutscene), but at 1:00, there's a Talib who leans out from cover and takes a few shots at the enemy. …
As something I've only seen before with Killzone 2, there will be dedicated servers, for consoles. The difference? The servers this time are third-party servers instead of being based on one particular console. What does this mean for concsole players? Of course, it means that gameplay will have a lot less lag, there will be no 'host migration' or anything of the sort. All in all, this is a good move -- this will be the first 'mainstream' game to feature dedicated servers on consoles.
In a semi-unrelated point, there are some previews of the game. Now we know the names of three singleplayer levels. Glean what you will from this.
IGN has released an exclusive preview of the new Medal of Honor game, and it goes into some nice details.
Most notable features are:
- Leaning returns in the singleplayer.
- Mission briefings in between each level. Here's hoping it will be like the Airborne briefings.
- It's possible to ask friendly AI for mags.
- It's possible to slide while running.
- The combat shown seems to be the same from the Leave a Message trailer. The other soldiers make references to the D-Day landings, which is a reference to Jimmy Patterson's landing in Medal of Honor: Frontline.
- The chopper shown in the Gunfighters preview is on rails. It also flows from the other mission, where the character gets bogged down by enemy fire. That's why they were blowing up that village.
- There's an amount of environmental destructability with the chopper.
- Deuce and Dusty are introduced in the level afterwards. The guy who's talking in the background is Dusty, the guy with the beard.
- After going through the HVT and Fallen Angel trailers about a …
Military personnel looking to pick up Medal of Honor this October will have to do so off-site. The Army and Air Force Exchange Services has announced that the game will not be stocked in any on-base GameStop or other post exchange in U.S. military bases worldwide. The reason is because of the inclusion of Taliban fighters in the game's multiplayer, naturally.
The commanding general of the Army and Air Force Exchange Services explained that this is done out of respect for the men and women who have fought against Taliban insurgents.
New Zealand’s Minister of Defence, Wayne Mapp, has spoken out against Medal of Honor, which will allow players to control Taliban insurgents and fight against other players controlling coalition forces in its multiplayer mode.
"This game undermines the values of our nation, and the dedicated service of our men and women in uniform," said Mapp. “Terrorist acts have caused the deaths of several New Zealanders.
"Hundreds of New Zealand servicemen and women have put their lives on the line in Afghanistan to combat terrorism, and this month Lieutenant Tim O'Donnell died in action over there.
New Zealand? Really?
In a surprising news story, Call of Duty's Military Advisor, Hank Keirsay has defended the fact that the Taliban are in the new Medal of Honor. A quote about the Taliban form him:
"Those are hard little f**kers," he says. "From a soldier perspective, I gotta admire certain qualities in those guys. They're not fighting for Al-Qaeda. Maybe one or two of them is. Most of them are fighting 'cos they've always fought. They've got what someone told them is a foreigner in town. They're gonna come down from the mountains with their little AKs and rally with other guys and try to beat the foreigner out of there."
