Mountain Trooper

A Mountain Trooper

The Mountain Troopers, not to be confused with the Mountaineers, are German soldiers who were posted on the island of Crete. They have been tasked with protecting a coastal battery of 15cm sFH 18 howitzers that were being installed in the ruins of Knossos as well as recovering artifacts from the ruins and protecting Archeologists as they rewrote history. They are also garrisoned in the city of Iraklion and have attempted to form an alliance with a group of Smugglers, however, both sides have been less than pleased with each other and fighting often brakes out between the two. They wear tropical uniforms with caps and are armed with MP40s and Walther P38 Pistols.

Mountain Officers

Mountain Trooper Officers

They appear only in the mission Undercover in Crete in the levels Getting the Story, What Lies at Knossos and Labyrinth. There are two variants: the Infantry, who wear tropical uniforms with tan or green caps and sometimes no cap. They are armed with either a MP40s or a Walther P38s and Model 24 Stielhandgranates, and the officers who wear similar uniforms but with peaked caps and are armed with just Walther P38s. In Getting the Story, they are seen battling the Smugglers. In What Lies at Knossos, they protect Archeologists. Other than the unique setting they are in and uniforms they have, they are the same as the regular Heer Infantry.
