The Mine Detector is a device which appears in Medal of Honor: Allied Assault: Breakthrough and the Wii version of Medal of Honor: Heroes 2. A mine detector is used to locate anti-personnel or anti-tank mines, most often via a metal detector.
Medal of Honor: Allied Assault: Breakthrough[]
The Mine Detector first appears in Allied Assault's expansion Breakthrough. In single player the Mine Detector only appears in the level Kasserine Pass 2, where it is used by John Baker to navigate the minefield.
The Mine Detector can be selected in multiplayer by both sides but only available in objective game modes like Tug of War or Liberation. When selected the player is only equipped with a sidearm and the mine detector along with 4 mines. The mines can be placed around the map and the detector can be used to detect and defuse them. The mines can only be placed in dirt and cannot be placed in solid ground like concrete. On the Allies side the player receives M2 Mines while the Axis receives S-Mines to use.
Medal of Honor: Heroes 2[]
The Mine Detector only appears in the Wii version of Heroes 2. It is used in the missions Downed Agent and Base Demolition. In both missions it is used to navigate the minefield.
Trivia[]
- The Mine Detector in Heroes 2 is based on the Polish W3-P Mine Detector.
