Messina is cut level from the game Medal of Honor: Allied Assault Breakthrough.
Description[]
According to the official description of the expansion, there was supposed to be a level about the liberation of the city of Messina:
"In Medal of Honor: Allied Assault - Breakthrough, you’ll join U.S. Army Sergeant John Baker as he fights in the battle at Kasserine Pass in North Africa, race to capture Messina in Sicily, and finally repel the German army at the historic battle of Monte Battaglia in the heart of Italy."
No other information or any of the assets of this mission exist. It probably should have appeared as level 4 for the mission in Sicily, or be level 3 instead of Gela. It is worth noting that Messina was liberated in August 1943, while the mission in Sicily took place in July.
The multiplayer map "Streets of Messina", which was obviously based on this cut level, was also cut from the game. This multiplayer map is mentioned in the game files.
