The MG 15 was a 7.92x57mm machine gun designed specifically as a hand manipulated defensive gun for combat aircraft during the 1930s. By 1941 it was replaced by other types and found new uses with ground troops. It must be noted that the MG15 was copied in Japan as the Type 98 flexible-mounted machine gun in aircraft and as the Type 1 machine gun in the Imperial Japanese Navy, but chambered in the 7.7x58mm Arisaka round. Otherwise this weapon is near-identical.

Medal of Honor: Underground[]

An MG15 machine gun is seen mounted on enemy motorcycle sidecars and atop enemy halftracks. Manon uses one in third level of "A Mittelwerk Saboteur" to escape on motorcycle.
