The Special Naval Landing Forces (SNLF), (海軍特別陸戦隊 Kaigun Tokubetsu Rikusentai), or just Japanese marines are the marine troops of the Imperial Japanese Navy (IJN) and are a part of the IJN Land Forces.

Medal of Honor: Rising Sun[]

Japanese marines were originally scripted to appear in the mission Toshikaze, but were ultimatley cut from the game.

Medal of Honor: Pacific Assault[]

Japanese marines appear in the prologue, Makin Atoll, Bloody Ridge and during the Battle of Tarawa. In Nightmoves, they appear in the Makin Attol defending the island from the U.S. marines. After the U.S marines rescue a pilot, they retreat to the beach to be picked up by the submarines and are attacked by Japanese marines with mortars. In Bloody Ridge they assist the regular Japanese troops.

Uniform[]

  • Regular marines have green uniforms and dark brown helmets with leather covers, some wear backpacks.
  • Ghillies wear similar uniforms but with leaves tied to their netted helmets and backpacks.
  • Corpsmen wear the same uniforms as regular marines, but have no backpacks and have a small medical bag used to heal teammates if they are wounded.
  • Workers wear white shirts, green trousers and small green caps.
  • Officers wear dark green uniforms with black boots.
  • NCOs wear light green uniforms, making them look similar to the regular marines.
