A Real Wehrmacht ID Book

The Nazi Wehrmacht Identification Papers made their first appearance in Medal of Honor, and have since appeared in Medal of Honor: Allied Assault (including expansion pack Breakthrough), and Medal of Honor: Frontline.

These ID papers are used to access more areas. This is done by showing a nearby guard the papers if asked; the player may need to upgrade his security level by finding higher level ID papers. If the papers are shown to an officer, the player will easily be spotted and the cover is blown. It is usually accompanied by the Silenced Pistol, and can only be kept until the player's cover is blown in Allied Assault and Frontline. ID Papers take many different forms, depending on where the missions take place and what the character's current disguise is.

Usage[]

Medal of Honor[]

In the mission Destroy the Mighty Railgun Greta, James Patterson has a forged passport as he impersonates a Wehrmacht captain. In the level Sneak Into the Rail Station, he obtains a Ausweis Blau (ID Blue) travel document from an officer to enter the middle of the station. He also obtains Ausweis Rot (ID Red) officer's document to gain access to the heart of the station. For some reason in the next level Find the Gift Package, he has to obtain another Ausweis Rot to access the room with the reserve engine. By the time he reaches the Rail Canyon, he ditches his disguise and papers.

In the mission Scuttle Das Boot U-4901, James Patterson has a different set of forged papers to go undercover as a Kriegsmarine officer. In the level Escape the Wolfram, he steals a General Pass to enter the Promenade. Next he steals a Pass to Bridge so he can access the Captain's deck. Finally he steals a Pass to Engineering to get inside the Engineering deck. After he leaves the Wolfram, he gets rid of his uniform and documents.

Medal of Honor: Underground[]

In the mission Hunting the Desert Fox, level Lighting the Torch, Manon Batiste infiltrates the supply depot and makes her way to the Photographer's private room, where she traps her and steals her camera and credentials paper. The credentials get Manon around most of the fort without arousing suspicion. During Burning Sands she obtain an Armory Pass to add to her credentials. However after she blows up several fuel trucks, her cover is blown forcing her to ditch the disguise.

In the mission Undercover in Crete, she is disguised as a foreign correspondent with a camera and forged credentials. Her credentials are not convincing enough and get her in a scuffle with suspicious officers, but she is able to upgrade them by acquiring a Photo Pass, a Restricted Pass and an Archaeology Pass. Her upgraded paperwork allows her to go around the dig site in What Lies at Knossos. However her mission objectives render her disguise useless.

Medal of Honor: Allied Assault[]

Stolen Soldbuch is used by OSS agent Mike Powell to facilitate inflitration in Scuttling the U-529 and Die Sturmgewehr.

Medal of Honor: Allied Assault: Breakthrough[]

Documents are used at the "Bizerte Canal" and "Bizerte Harbor" levels.

Medal of Honor: Frontline[]

ID papers are usable in the levels "The Golden Lion", "Operation Repunzel" and "On Track".

Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond[]

ID Papers called Deutsches Reich Reisepass can be picked up.

Trivia[]

  • The Ausweis Blau was a travel document issued to German citizens, refugees, soldiers and low-ranking officers. It also acted as a convention pass to get past non-militarized checkpoints.
  • The Ausweis Rot was a travel document issued to German politicians, VIPs, foreign diplomats and higher-ranking officers. It allowed cross-border access and passing military checkpoints.
