Medal of Honor Wiki

The Grumman F4F Wildcat is an American carrier-based fighter aircraft that began service with both the United States Navy and the British Royal Navy in 1940, where it was initially known as the Martlet. First used in combat by the British in the North Atlantic, the Wildcat was the only effective fighter available to the United States Navy and Marine Corps in the Pacific Theater during the early part of World War II in 1941 and 1942

Medal of Honor: Rising Sun[]

In the opening cutscene in the mission "Pistol Pete Showdown" several wildcats appear on the airstrip. Also F4F Wildcat flies in the main menu.

Medal of Honor: Pacific Assault[]

Many Wildcats are stationed on Henderson Airfield.

During the Japanese attack on Henderson F4Fs among other planes are launched to defend the airfield many were destroyed by the Japanese fighters in the air and others were destroyed in their hangars by dive bombers.

If the player uses a Browning machine gun to protect the planes as they take off a Heroic moment will be achieved which gives the player the cactus air force patch with a picture of a Wildcat.

Medal of Honor: Airborne[]

On the "Training" mission, several F4Fs are located outside the player's drop zone and are used as decorations.

Trivia[]

  • The F4F model in Airborne is a model from Pacific Assault.
