Lieutenant Edmund Harrison is a minor character in Medal of Honor: Rising Sun.

History[]

Harrison was a demolitions expert. What made him unique among the others in training was that he actually enjoyed his job to the point of being a pyromaniac at times. The guide book for the game says he was posted at Honolulu, and he may have been at the Pearl Harbor attack, although this is unknown.

Early career[]

After training, he was assigned to the army to fight in the Philippines, where he was in the same unit as Donnie Griffin while he was there.

Guadalcanal[]

After fighting in the Philippines, he was transferred to Guadalcanal with the USMC. He fought during the battle and was then sent on a special mission to destroy the Pistol Pete artillery. He was captured during his hike but was rescued by Griffin. He then continues his mission, accompanied by Griffin. They succeed in destroying the artillery and head back.

Death or Rescue[]

On the way, however, he is wounded by a Japanese sniper on the rope bridge, and he sets a charge. You can choose to save him. If not, then he dies when the bridge is blown up.

Multiplayer[]

According the A.I. stats found in the game's Prima Strategy Guide, Harrison is the most skilled and powerful character available in multiplayer. He is capable of adapting to any weapon and rarely missing his targets.

Trivia[]

  • Even though he is depicted with a Thompson in the guide, in the game, he wields an M1 Garand.
  • He states that Joseph looks very familiar, obviously referring to his brother Donnie who was captured in the Philippines.
  • He is one of fewer main characters that is scripted to die, although it is possible to save him to complete the bonus objective.
  • In the two player campaign, he makes a very brief appearance as one of the P.O.W.s. Once you rescue him, though, he goes onto the ground and stays there, like the rest of the P.O.W.s.
  • In the storyboard for Pistol Pete, Harrison is saved before he can be hanged, with Griffin shooting the rope around his neck. He is killed instantly and the bride is destroyed when Clemens orders the main character to shoot a demo pack on the bridge.
