The SVD is a weapon featured in Medal of Honor (2010). The Dragunov was designed in 1963 as a squad support weapon. It uses the same operating mechanism as the AK-47. The Dragunov is issued with a PSO-1 optical sight but also features back-up iron sights. The rifle was adopted by several Warsaw Pact countries as well and many copies of the rifle exists.

Singleplayer[]

The Dragunov appears a couple of times in the single player. It can be found in the first two missions of the game: First In and Breaking Bagram. The Dragunov can be found in the levels: Neptune's Net and later in Rescue the Rescuers. The Dragnov is a great rifle to take out enemies at long ranges. It also has a 10 round magazine and it is a semi-automatic rifle making it a great long range rifle. Ammo can be scarce for the weapon and can be only be refilled by finding an another Dragunov.

Multiplayer[]

It is the first Primary Weapon in the Sniper class for the OPFOR faction. It has a 10 round magazine and can be equipped with a red dot sight. With higher damage and lower recoil then the M21 Battle Rifle, the SVD is much more effective in close range. It is recommended to keep the red dot sight attached, as it isn't as effective at long ranges as other sniper rifles.
