Captain Beck is a character featured in Medal of Honor: European Assault. He is an officer with No. 2 Commando of the 2nd Special Service Brigade and led the successful raid on the German-occupied French port of Saint-Nazaire.

Biography[]

Early life[]

Beck is a British soldier who enlisted in the British Army sometime prior to 1942, before joining the No. 2 Commando, one of a dozen battalion-sized unit within the Special Service Brigade. Like most commandos, he likely trained with his unit at Achnacarry in the Scottish Highlands.

St Nazaire Raid[]

In the early morning hours of 28 March 1942, Roderick was among a section of commandos aboard the HMS Campbeltown, a destroyer converted into an explosive-laden battering ram with an objective of destroying the dry dock. They are joined by Lieutenant William Holt, an American agent with the Office of Strategic Services assigned to the commando unit.

Following the collision with the dry dock, Holt is knocked unconscious and Winslow, the radio operator, is killed and the radio severely damaged. With Holt awakening, Lieutenant Roderick orders him to make his way along the dock and locate Captain Beck, who has already disembarked and now possesses the unit's only working radio. After linking up with Beck nearby, Holt escorts him back to the HMS Campbeltown before the unit advances further into the facility.

Notes[]

  • Despite being referred to as a Captain, the chevrons on his uniform denote him as a Lance Corporal.
