The Blackshirts (officially the Voluntary Militia for national Security) were the paramilitary wing of the italian National Fascist Party, before being transformed into an all-voluntary Militia in 1923. They are a class of enemies found in Medal of Honor: Airborne. There are two different types, Soldatos & Vicecapos. The latter uses better weapons than the former, but the two are otherwise the same.

Soldatos[]

General description[]

They appear wearing a black uniform and a black cap. They have just 90 health. Their primary weapon is a Karabiner 98 Kurz, and they use grenades. They aren't particularly difficult foes due to the slow-firing nature of their weapons and low health. Soldato means 'Soldier', which meant that the Italians in this class are recruits or Privates.

Weapons[]

Common tactics[]

The Blackshirts do not have a very large range of tactics. They tend to remain stationary, even when shot at, and don't change cover too often or efficiently. They are also incapable of using their grenades. However, if found in groups, they can be a threat if the player is not careful.

Vicecapos[]

[]

General description[]

The Vicecapo wear black uniforms and helmets. Their health and skill level is the same as the normal Italian Blackshirt, but they have better weaponry, namely the MP40. Vicecapo was the blackshirt equivalent of a Corporal; meaning that they are Italian NCOs.

Common tactics[]

Like the normal Italian Blackshirts, they do not have a very large range of tactics. They tend to remain stationary, even when shot at, and don't change cover too often or efficiently. They are also incapable of using their grenades. When found in groups, they can be deadly on higher difficulty levels due to their automatic fire, particularly on the "hard" difficulty level, where there is no 'damage halt', the split-second invulnerability to damage when a player is shot.

Fighting against them[]

Their health is just as low as the normal Italian Blackshirts, meaning that one shot from a rifle or three from an automatic weapon will kill them. However, they can pose more of a threat compared to the Blackshirts, due to their automatic weaponry.

The best way to kill these enemies is to flush them from cover using grenades, and shoot them with an automatic weapon while they are fleeing.

If the player is using the Springfield, it's best to take distances and zoom in to get clearer shot in order to kill them.

Trivia[]

  • They use only German weaponry, such as Karabiner 98 Kurz rifles, MP40 submachine guns, and MG42 machine guns. Instead, they should be armed with Carcano rifles, Beretta Modello 38 submachine guns, and Breda M30 machine guns.
  • They, along with the Tropical Heer Infantry are the only enemy factions in the game that appear in only one mission. They also are replaced by the Tropical Heer Infantry later in the same mission.
